HIGHBURY CANCO EXPANDS AND CREATES 170 JOBS WITH FEDERAL BOOST

LEAMINGTON, ONT. -- The federal government is giving a boost to a Leamington company that is expanding and creating 170 jobs. Minister Economic Development and Official Languages Mélanie Joly announced $3.6 million for Highbury Canco Corporation.

French’s® & Highbury Canco Present…“Tomato Town Family Weekend at Colasanti’s”

Leamington, ON – August 19, 2016 – The French’s Food Company & Highbury Canco are pleased to announce the following event - “Tomato Town Family Fun Weekend at Colasanti’s”. Admission is free with either a $2 donation or submission of one canned good per person (normally a $16.95 value). Families will have unlimited access to the rides, zoo and 18 hole mini-golf all located on the property. Other activities include a meet & greet with the “Birds of Prey” and a face-painting station hosted by Glitterfly. All donations will support the local food bank in coordination with the Salvation Army. The event will run on both August 27th & August 28th from 10:00am – 5:00pm.When it was announced in early 2016 that the Leamington Tomato Festival was cancelled, the Tomato Capital of Canada was in search of a Festival. The French’s Food Company and Highbury Canco strongly support the tradition of the Leamington Tomato Festival. Leamington, ON – August 3, 2016 – Highbury Canco of Leamington is hosting a job fair on Monday, August 8th. The company is looking to fill over 100 positions including: General Labour, Skilled Trades, Production Supervisors, Material Planners, Project Managers and Quality Assurance Associates to name a few.Highbury Canco currently employs approximately 440 full time employees, and is looking to hire approximately 200 additional employees. The majority of new hires will fill our general labour positions to assist with our tomato processing season and we will need to keep many of the seasonal hires on to work full time to keep up with the growing business. Hiring would begin immediately with orientation commencing the week of August 15th. All employees receive training and a competitive wage. Highbury also offers a profit shared bonus structure, pensions and competitive benefits for full time employees.The Highbury Canco job fair will be Monday, August 8th from 9 am to 4 pm at the Highbury facility, 148 Erie Street South, Leamington, N8H 0C3.
